Background

THB is currently undertaking an extensive package of road resurfacing and line marking works across Hertfordshire as a key supply chain partner of Ringway. The THB team has already completed some excellent resurfacing work around The Broadway in Letchworth. (right)

Objectives

  • The scope of work entailed the installation of approximately 400 tonnes of AC10 asphalt using THB Wirtgen Pavers and Hamm rollers, followed by new road markings. In addition, the work also included DDA amendments to bus stops, landscaping and paco patch adjustments to ironwork. The work was carried out over two nights, the first night consisted of 400 tonnes of planing and inlay, followed by line markings on night two.

Outcome

The resurfacing work was carried out by THB, supported by our Traffic Management division and was completed within the agreed timeframe. The result was an excellent and vastly improved road network that will last many years to come.
