Car Park Excavation & Resurfacing - Luton Airport
Background
THB was contracted to complete over 11,000m2 of surfacing and reconstruction works on Luton Airport’s mid-term car park while it remained in operation (featured above/below). Implementing emergency excavation before resurfacing was necessary due to the unfortunate car park fire in 2023.
We were restricted to nighttime work and had a 2-week time frame to complete the job in full. Consistent passenger and car movement in and around the car park made things a little trickier.

CHALLENGES
- Ongoing passenger and car movements in and around the car park

- Higher risk of safety measures required for team and public
Outcome
Whilst providing some unique challenges, including continuous public car park movements, nighttime work, and a two-week deadline for completion, the THB team completed the job within the required parameters, to the customer’s delight. We also ensured the highest safety measures throughout and were very happy with the result.
