CIVILS WORKS FOR TRANSPORT FOR BUCKINGHAMSHIRE
Background
THB completed extensive civils works across multiple sites for Transport for Buckinghamshire. The scope of works ranged from; installation of new kerbing, tactile paving, groundworks, bollards and ironworks. The Minor Civils works scheme included; the removal and installation of new bollards, crossings, paving and gulley adjustments. In addition to the above THB completed also kerb realignment and tactile paving at various locations to improve the safety to pedestrians.
In addition, there was new lighting and signage work completed on the A413, A418 and A422 to improve visibility and road safety.
Benefits
- New and improved kerbing
- Improved drainage
- Aesthetic improvement to the
- community
Objectives
THB had to complete the works within a specified time frame across a number of locations with minimal disruption to the local community. The work was undertaken during both night and day
depending on the working restraints of the client.
Challenges
- Winter programme/weather
- Installation of new drainage
- Restricted working hours
Outcome
Given the tight timeframe and restricted working hours, our teams completed the work on schedule. The safety measures installed ensured that both pedestrians and drivers remain safe. The new droplevel kerbs ensured that wheelchair and mobility scooter users had a new safe area to cross a busy road.
